Sylvester Gabianu is a member of the Ghana Institute of Planner and Common Association of Planners and Principal Partner of The Urban Associates Limited (TUAL). He is a trained M&E specialist with over 10 years’ experience in the design and implementation of M&E interventions across Africa. He was a team member and coordinator of African Researchers that assessed post-harvest losses along the value chain of selected stable crops in 11 Sub-Saharan African Countries, a study commissioned by AGRA and Bill & Malinda Gates Foundation.
He acted as External Evaluator for Evaluating the Impact of Weija Irrigation Project on the Development of its Catchment Area (Study commissioned by Ghana Irrigation Authority). Mr. Gabianu assisted the Ministry of Mining and Mineral Resources of Sierra Leone, as well as WAAPP Sierra Leone, to design a web-based monitoring and evaluation system to track and assess performance of implementation of the mineral laws, policies and regulatory framework. He was a member of the consulting team that conducted a beneficiary impact assessment for the Rural and Private Sector Development Project (RPSDP) in Sierra Leone.
Mr. Gabianu holds a BSc. Degree in Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi; and a Master’s degree in Local and Regional Development from the Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University, The Hague, Netherlands. He has several certificates in the area of M&E, Land and City Administration/Management.
