Prof. Irene Egyir holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana. She is currently Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, School of Agriculture, University of Ghana.
She has over 25 years of functional experience in agricultural economics in different capacities with a special interest in Marketing Strategy, Marketing Channels, Small Firms’ Production, International Marketing, and Income Distribution, project impact assessment, and monitoring and evaluation of agri-based projects. Prof. Egyir has a good knowledge of the log-frame approach to project management and setting indicators for monitoring. She has published numerous articles in diverse journals on these subjects. She is an occasional reviewer for Agricultural and Food Science, and Aquaculture Economics and Management.
Since October 2010, Prof. Egyir has had overall oversight in the assessment of the processing, marketing, and distribution of rice produced from the University of Ghana Research Station in Kpong, Ghana.
